Industrial door work in Alfreton
Besides Alfreton, we can survey and quote for sites in Ripley, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Kirkby-in-Ashfield and the rest of Derbyshire.
If your premises are leased, check whether the landlord needs to approve the work. We can provide drawings and product data for the landlord or managing agent before the order is placed.
What the law expects at a loading bay
Across Great Britain, including Alfreton, loading bays bring together several duties: maintained work equipment under PUWER 1998, safe traffic routes under the Workplace Regulations 1992, and safe powered doors under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008. Dock levellers should meet BS EN 1398, and the site's risk assessment should cover vehicle creep and drive-aways.
Who must keep fire shutters working at a site in Alfreton?
The responsible person, usually the employer, owner or managing agent, has the duty under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. Your fire risk assessment should list each shutter, how it is released and how often it is tested, and the local fire and rescue authority may ask how the shutters are maintained.
Questions from businesses in Alfreton
Is the survey free for sites in Alfreton?
Surveys for new doors, replacements and loading bay installations are free. Repair and servicing visits are chargeable, with the attendance price agreed before we come out.
Do you cover Alfreton?
Yes. We survey, install, repair and service industrial doors and loading bay equipment for businesses in Alfreton and the rest of Derbyshire. Tell us the site postcode and what you need and we will arrange a visit.
What paperwork do we get after an installation in Alfreton?
User instructions, the manufacturer's Declaration of Performance and, for powered doors, the conformity documents and commissioning records. Keep them with your health and safety file.
Do prices in Derbyshire differ from the guide prices?
Guide prices apply to mainland UK sites. For islands and remote sites, travel and access costs are added and shown in your quote. Your fixed price depends on the door, size, access and working hours, and is confirmed in writing after the survey.
