Why we use it and our lawful basis
- Replying to enquiries, surveying and quoting — taking steps at your request before a contract, or our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries.
- Carrying out and invoicing work, servicing and test records — performing our contract with you, and legal obligations such as keeping accounting records and safety documentation.
- Live chat and analytics cookies — your consent, which you can withdraw at any time through the cookie settings link in the footer.
- Improving the website and preventing spam — our legitimate interests.
We do not sell your information, and we do not pass enquiries to other businesses to sell to you. If you would like to hear from us about servicing reminders or offers, we will ask you separately; you can opt out at any time.
Who we share it with
- Service providers that process data for us: Web3Forms (form delivery), Tawk.to (live chat), our email and telephone providers, website hosting (Netlify), our video content delivery network and, if enabled, Google Analytics.
- Companies in the S&K Group that handle enquiries, quotes and jobs.
- Installation teams and subcontractors who work for us on your job, who receive only what they need to survey, install or service.
- Door and equipment manufacturers, where product registration or warranty requires it.
- Professional advisers, insurers and authorities where the law requires it.
International transfers
Some providers may process information outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries and chat records that do not lead to work: 24 months.
- Quotes, contracts, invoices, service and test records: 7 years after the work, or longer where a product's safety records need to be kept for its working life.
- Analytics data: 14 months.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, ask for it to be transferred, and withdraw consent at any time.
