LEGALTerms

Terms and conditions

These terms explain how Industrial Door Installers works with customers. Your written quote and these terms form the contract for any work. If the quote and these terms differ, the quote takes priority.

Who you contract with

Industrial Door Installers is a trading name of S&K Property Investments and Improvement Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 16932889, registered office Unit 1 Hembs Crescent, Great Barr, Birmingham B43 5DG. Your contract is with S&K Property Investments and Improvement Ltd. Installation and servicing are carried out by our teams and by subcontractors working under our direction; we remain responsible to you for the work.

Guide prices and quotes

  • Prices on this website, including the guide-price tool, are guides to help you budget. They are not offers.
  • Surveys for new installations, replacements and upgrades are free. Repair, servicing, diagnostic and call-out visits are chargeable at the rate agreed before we attend.
  • After the survey we send a written fixed price listing the products, work, exclusions, lead time and payment terms. Unless it says otherwise, a quote is valid for 30 days.
  • Prices exclude VAT, which is added at the current rate where it applies. For islands and remote sites, travel and access costs are added and shown in the quote.

Your responsibilities

  • Safe access to the opening and working area on the agreed dates, and any landlord or managing agent consent needed.
  • A structurally sound opening and fixings, unless our quote includes making good or new framing.
  • Electrical supply to an isolator in the agreed position, unless our quote includes it.
  • Telling us about hazards on site, such as asbestos, overhead services, traffic routes and permits to work.
  • Planning permission or building control approval where needed, unless our quote says we will arrange it.

Orders, deposits and made-to-measure products

Most doors and loading bay equipment are made to measure. Once you accept a quote and we place the order with the manufacturer, the costs of that order are committed. Any deposit and the payment stages are set out in your quote. If you cancel after the order is placed, you pay for costs already incurred and any manufacturer cancellation charges.

If you are a consumer rather than a business, you have a 14-day right to cancel a contract made at a distance or away from our premises. That right does not apply to goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised (regulation 28(1)(b) of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013). If you expressly ask us, in writing, to start services within the 14 days, you pay for work done up to the point you cancel. To cancel, tell us clearly by email or letter; you may use the model cancellation form in Schedule 3 to the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, but you do not have to.

Changes to the work

If the site turns out to be different from the survey, or you ask for changes, we agree the change and any price difference in writing before carrying it out.

Handover, warranties and maintenance

On completion we test and commission the installation and hand over user instructions and the relevant product and test documentation. Manufacturers' product warranties are passed on to you on their terms; many require regular servicing by a competent engineer. Our workmanship and any warranty period we give are stated in your quote. Fire ratings, security ratings and product marking belong to the manufacturers of the products we supply.

Payment

Invoices are payable within the period stated in the quote. Title to goods passes to you when they are paid for in full. We may charge statutory interest on late payments by business customers.

Liability

We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot be excluded by law. For business customers, we are not liable for indirect loss or loss of profit, and our total liability is limited to the contract price. Nothing in these terms affects a consumer's statutory rights.

Website content and images

Information on this website is general guidance, not legal or professional advice for your site. Photographs and video on this website are computer-generated to show the types of product we supply; they are not photographs of our completed jobs. Products, finishes and details vary by manufacturer.

Complaints

If something is not right, contact us at info@industrialdoorinstallers.co.uk or on 0800 088 6248 and we will respond and try to put it right.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If your site is in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in the courts there.
