What we fit in Dunoon

Impact protection. Protection around the opening helps stop forklifts damaging expensive insulated leaves.
Hygienic finishes. Plastisol-coated steel, stainless steel or GRP for food and pharmaceutical use.
Tight seals. The leaf pulls in against its gaskets on closing so cold air stays where it belongs.
Heated frames. Heater cables in freezer door frames stop ice welding the seals shut.
Electric sliding. Powered sliding doors that open on demand and close automatically, with full safety devices.

Examples of work we can quote for

Protecting new cold store door frames with steel buffers and bollards on a busy forklift route.
Motorising a heavy manual cold store door with pull-cord activation, a safety edge on the closing leaf and photocells.
Installing a high-speed freezer door in front of an existing sliding cold store door on a busy picking route.

Powered door rules that apply in Dunoon

Dunoon is in Scotland, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.

Frequently asked questions

Can you replace a freezer door at our Dunoon site without losing stock?

We plan the change with you and your refrigeration engineer. Many doors can be swapped in a day, sometimes with stock moved or the plant set back temporarily, so the room returns to temperature quickly.

Do you repair cold store doors in Dunoon?

Yes. We replace gaskets, frame heaters, rollers, tracks, releases and drives on most makes. Repair visits are chargeable, and we quote before larger repairs or recommend replacement when the leaf itself has failed.

What safety release do cold store doors in Dunoon need?

Every cold store door should open from inside without a key or tool, even when locked from outside. We fit a clearly marked inside release and can add an alarm button connected to a monitored panel.
