What we fit in Stanford-le-Hope

Pressure relief. We check pressure relief so a tightly sealed room does not suck the door shut.
Thick insulation. Insulation thickness is chosen for your operating temperature, with heavier leaves for freezers.
Electric sliding. Powered sliding doors that open on demand and close automatically, with full safety devices.
Inside release. Every door can be opened from inside without a key, even if locked from outside.
Tight seals. Compressible gaskets pressed against the frame as the door closes.

Typical scopes of work

Renewing worn gaskets and the frame heater on a chiller door that no longer seals properly.
Installing a high-speed freezer door in front of an existing sliding cold store door on a busy picking route.
Motorising a heavy manual cold store door with pull-cord activation, a safety edge on the closing leaf and photocells.

Safety law for industrial doors in England

Industrial doors in Stanford-le-Hope are covered by the same rules as the rest of Great Britain. On handover you should receive user instructions and, for a powered door, the conformity paperwork, because the installer is treated as the manufacturer when they assemble or motorise it. Afterwards, keeping the door in efficient working order is the occupier's job under the Workplace Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998, which in practice means regular servicing and a written log.

Keeping your site running during the work

Where a door is being replaced, the opening has to be made secure at the end of each day. We plan strip-out, any new framing and the new door so the gap is never left open overnight unless you have agreed temporary measures.

Your questions about cold store and freezer doors

Can you replace a freezer door at our Stanford-le-Hope site without losing stock?

We plan the change with you and your refrigeration engineer. Many doors can be swapped in a day, sometimes with stock moved or the plant set back temporarily, so the room returns to temperature quickly.

What safety release do cold store doors in Stanford-le-Hope need?

Every cold store door should open from inside without a key or tool, even when locked from outside. We fit a clearly marked inside release and can add an alarm button connected to a monitored panel.

Do you supply cold store doors for food businesses in Essex?

Yes. We supply and fit cold store doors with hygienic finishes for food producers, processors, distributors and commercial kitchens across Essex, and we talk through your hygiene, cleaning and audit requirements at the survey before recommending a finish.
