What we fit in Magherafelt
- Hygienic finishes. Smooth, cleanable finishes chosen to meet your hygiene and audit standards.
- Electric sliding. Motorised sliding doors with pull cords, radar or loops and safety edges.
- Pressure relief. Relief valves to balance pressure after the door closes or during defrost.
- Impact protection. Kick plates, buffers and bollards to keep trucks off leaves and frames.
- Tight seals. Compressible gaskets pressed against the frame as the door closes.
What this work can involve
- Motorising a heavy manual cold store door with pull-cord activation, a safety edge on the closing leaf and photocells.
- Protecting new cold store door frames with steel buffers and bollards on a busy forklift route.
- Installing a high-speed freezer door in front of an existing sliding cold store door on a busy picking route.
Who is responsible for door safety at a site in Magherafelt?
In Northern Ireland, the business in control of the premises must keep doors and gates safe under the Workplace Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1993 and maintain work equipment under PUWER (Northern Ireland) 1999, with HSENI as the regulator. The installer who supplies or motorises a door hands over the conformity documents and user instructions; CE marking remains the relevant mark for machinery here.
Planning the work around your site
Downtime matters on a working site, so the programme is set around your shifts. For a single door the opening is usually needed for a day; multi-door jobs are done one bay at a time so deliveries keep moving.

Questions from businesses in Magherafelt
What safety release do cold store doors in Magherafelt need?
Every cold store door should open from inside without a key or tool, even when locked from outside. We fit a clearly marked inside release and can add an alarm button connected to a monitored panel.
Do you supply cold store doors for food businesses in County Londonderry?
Yes. We supply and fit cold store doors with hygienic finishes for food producers, processors, distributors and commercial kitchens across County Londonderry, and we talk through your hygiene, cleaning and audit requirements at the survey before recommending a finish.
Can our cold store door in Magherafelt be made electric?
Often, yes, if the leaf and track are sound, or with a new electric sliding door. Powered cold store doors need safety edges and photocells and a drive suited to the temperature.
