What we fit in Merseyside

Thick insulation. Insulation thickness is chosen for your operating temperature, with heavier leaves for freezers.
Electric sliding. Motorised sliding doors with pull cords, radar or loops and safety edges.
Impact protection. Protection around the opening helps stop forklifts damaging expensive insulated leaves.
Tight seals. The leaf pulls in against its gaskets on closing so cold air stays where it belongs.
Heated frames. Heater cables in freezer door frames stop ice welding the seals shut.

What this work can involve

Installing a high-speed freezer door in front of an existing sliding cold store door on a busy picking route.
Protecting new cold store door frames with steel buffers and bollards on a busy forklift route.
Replacing an iced-up sliding freezer door with a new insulated door, heated frame and heated threshold.

Powered door rules that apply in Merseyside

Merseyside is in England, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.

Planning the work around your site

Electrical work is the part that most often delays a job. If a new or converted door needs a supply, we confirm the motor's requirement at quote stage so your electrician can provide an isolator in the right place before installation day.
