What to specify
- Impact protection. Protection around the opening helps stop forklifts damaging expensive insulated leaves.
- Inside release. An emergency release on the inside face so nobody can be shut in.
- Electric sliding. Powered sliding doors that open on demand and close automatically, with full safety devices.
- Hygienic finishes. Smooth, cleanable finishes chosen to meet your hygiene and audit standards.
- Tight seals. The leaf pulls in against its gaskets on closing so cold air stays where it belongs.
Jobs we can carry out
- Motorising a heavy manual cold store door with pull-cord activation, a safety edge on the closing leaf and photocells.
- Installing a high-speed freezer door in front of an existing sliding cold store door on a busy picking route.
- Replacing an iced-up sliding freezer door with a new insulated door, heated frame and heated threshold.
Safety law for industrial doors in England
Industrial doors in Horsham are covered by the same rules as the rest of Great Britain. On handover you should receive user instructions and, for a powered door, the conformity paperwork, because the installer is treated as the manufacturer when they assemble or motorise it. Afterwards, keeping the door in efficient working order is the occupier's job under the Workplace Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998, which in practice means regular servicing and a written log.
Planning the work around your site
Most installations in Horsham can be phased so part of the site keeps working. We agree access routes, exclusion zones and any temporary security with you before the team arrives, and can work early mornings, evenings or weekends where the business needs it.

Questions from businesses in Horsham
How much does a cold store or freezer door cost in Horsham?
Our guide price for a sliding cold store or freezer door is £6,495 to £17,995 ex VAT, supplied and fitted. Size, temperature, insulation and electric operation set the final price, confirmed in writing after a free survey in Horsham.
Can you replace a freezer door at our Horsham site without losing stock?
We plan the change with you and your refrigeration engineer. Many doors can be swapped in a day, sometimes with stock moved or the plant set back temporarily, so the room returns to temperature quickly.
Can our cold store door in Horsham be made electric?
Often, yes, if the leaf and track are sound, or with a new electric sliding door. Powered cold store doors need safety edges and photocells and a drive suited to the temperature.
