Options that matter on site
- Thick insulation. Foam-filled leaves sized to the room temperature, from chillers to freezers.
- Electric sliding. Powered sliding doors that open on demand and close automatically, with full safety devices.
- Impact protection. Protection around the opening helps stop forklifts damaging expensive insulated leaves.
- Inside release. Every door can be opened from inside without a key, even if locked from outside.
- Hygienic finishes. Plastisol-coated steel, stainless steel or GRP for food and pharmaceutical use.
Typical scopes of work
- Fitting a hinged chiller door with a stainless steel finish to a walk-in cold room in a commercial kitchen.
- Motorising a heavy manual cold store door with pull-cord activation, a safety edge on the closing leaf and photocells.
- Fitting freezer-grade PVC strip curtains behind cold store doors that stand open during loading.
Safety law for industrial doors in England
Industrial doors in Dewsbury are covered by the same rules as the rest of Great Britain. On handover you should receive user instructions and, for a powered door, the conformity paperwork, because the installer is treated as the manufacturer when they assemble or motorise it. Afterwards, keeping the door in efficient working order is the occupier's job under the Workplace Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998, which in practice means regular servicing and a written log.
Planning the work around your site
Sites in and around Dewsbury vary from tight trade counters to large distribution yards. The survey records access for our vehicle and platform, overhead obstructions and floor condition so the installation day runs without surprises.

Questions from businesses in Dewsbury
Can our cold store door in Dewsbury be made electric?
Often, yes, if the leaf and track are sound, or with a new electric sliding door. Powered cold store doors need safety edges and photocells and a drive suited to the temperature.
What safety release do cold store doors in Dewsbury need?
Every cold store door should open from inside without a key or tool, even when locked from outside. We fit a clearly marked inside release and can add an alarm button connected to a monitored panel.
Why is our cold room door in Dewsbury hard to open after it closes?
Usually negative pressure: air inside cools and contracts once the door seals. A correctly sized pressure relief valve, heated on freezers, solves this. We check for one on survey and can fit it with a new door.
