In short
Wind and rain blowing through the loading bay at your Mid Glamorgan site every time a trailer backs on? A retractable or inflatable dock shelter seals the opening around the vehicle and keeps the weather outside where it belongs.

Options that matter on site
- Temperature control. Less heated or chilled air escapes around the trailer while the door is up.
- Replacement curtains. Worn or torn curtains renewed on the existing frame.
- Retractable frames. If a trailer reverses too far, the frame gives way and springs back instead of bending.
- Sized to your fleet. We size curtains to the vans, rigids and trailers that actually use your bay.
- Weather protection. Keeps wind, rain and cold out of the dock during loading.
Jobs we can carry out
- Installing inflatable dock shelters at a chilled goods-in to help hold temperature while trailers are unloaded.
- Replacing torn side and top curtains on existing retractable shelter frames instead of buying new shelters.
- Fitting foam dock seals at a bay used only by a dedicated fleet of identical trailers.
Who is responsible for loading bay equipment at a site in Mid Glamorgan?
The employer or occupier is. PUWER 1998 requires work equipment to be maintained and inspected, and the Workplace Regulations 1992 cover vehicle and pedestrian routes around the dock. In practice that means planned servicing of levellers and doors, daily pre-use checks and a clear procedure to stop trailers moving during loading.
How the work is organised
Before work starts we send a method statement and risk assessment, confirm who on site will be our contact and agree where materials and access equipment will go. On shared industrial estates that can mean booking yard space with the landlord.

Your questions about dock shelters and seals
How much does a dock shelter cost in Mid Glamorgan?
Our guide prices are £2,195 to £5,495 ex VAT for a retractable dock shelter and £6,495 to £11,995 for an inflatable one, supplied and fitted. Once we have surveyed your bays in Mid Glamorgan, at no charge, the fixed price follows in writing.
Which dock shelter suits our Mid Glamorgan warehouse?
Retractable shelters suit most mixed fleets. Inflatable shelters give a tighter seal for chilled, frozen or sensitive goods. Foam seals suit uniform fleets. We recommend one after recording your vehicles and dock on survey.
Can a dock shelter in Mid Glamorgan be fitted with our existing leveller?
Usually, yes. The shelter fits around the dock door and works with most existing levellers, provided the bumpers stop the trailer at the right distance from the wall. We check the bumpers and leveller lip on survey.
