Options for dock shelters and seals in Morpeth
- Temperature control. Helps hold heat or cold inside the building with dock doors open.
- Weather protection. Goods and staff stay out of the weather while the trailer is being worked.
- Foam seals. Compressible pads for a tight seal where vehicles are a uniform size.
- Sized to your fleet. Curtain sizes matched to vehicle widths, heights and dock height.
- Replacement curtains. Worn or torn curtains renewed on the existing frame.
Jobs we can carry out
- Adding rain gutters and guide lights to dock shelters so water stays out of trailers during loading.
- Replacing torn side and top curtains on existing retractable shelter frames instead of buying new shelters.
- Replacing worn dock bumpers before fitting new shelters so trailers stop at the correct distance from the wall.
Who is responsible for loading bay equipment at a site in Morpeth?
The employer or occupier is. PUWER 1998 requires work equipment to be maintained and inspected, and the Workplace Regulations 1992 cover vehicle and pedestrian routes around the dock. In practice that means planned servicing of levellers and doors, daily pre-use checks and a clear procedure to stop trailers moving during loading.
Access, phasing and timing
For busy sites in Northumberland the work can be split across visits — preparation and framing first, door installation and commissioning second — so the opening is only out of action for the shortest time.

Dock shelters and seals in Morpeth: your questions
How much does a dock shelter cost in Morpeth?
Our guide prices are £2,195 to £5,495 ex VAT for a retractable dock shelter and £6,495 to £11,995 for an inflatable one, supplied and fitted. Once we have surveyed your bays in Morpeth, at no charge, the fixed price follows in writing.
Can you replace the curtains on our dock shelters in Morpeth?
Yes. Replacement curtains are made to fit the existing frame on most retractable shelters, which is much cheaper than a new shelter. We measure and record the frame on the first visit.
Which dock shelter suits our Morpeth warehouse?
Retractable shelters suit most mixed fleets. Inflatable shelters give a tighter seal for chilled, frozen or sensitive goods. Foam seals suit uniform fleets. We recommend one after recording your vehicles and dock on survey.
