Industrial door motor replacement in Sevenoaks

In short

Door stalling, grinding or creeping down at your Sevenoaks site? It may need a new motor, or the motor may be suffering from a fault elsewhere. We diagnose which it is before recommending anything.

How we look after doors in Sevenoaks

Obsolete motors. When a motor is discontinued, we fit a suitable alternative and adapt the mounting.
Matched drives. Each replacement drive is selected for the door it will move, not just the old part number.
Fault diagnosis. Diagnosis comes first, so you only pay for the parts the door actually needs.
Re-commissioning. Limits set, cycles tested and safety devices checked before handover.
Force testing. Where it applies, we measure closing forces to confirm the door is safe after the change.

Jobs we can carry out

Re-commissioning a sectional door once a new motor is fitted, including new limit settings and closing force tests.
Fitting an equivalent chain-drive motor with adapter plates to a large sectional door whose original drive is discontinued.
Replacing a burnt-out direct-drive motor on a loading bay door and fitting an inverter control panel at the same time.

Safety law for industrial doors in England

Industrial doors in Sevenoaks are covered by the same rules as the rest of Great Britain. On handover you should receive user instructions and, for a powered door, the conformity paperwork, because the installer is treated as the manufacturer when they assemble or motorise it. Afterwards, keeping the door in efficient working order is the occupier's job under the Workplace Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998, which in practice means regular servicing and a written log.

How the work is organised

Service and repair visits in Sevenoaks are booked around your shifts. Doors and shutters are taken out of use one at a time, so the rest of the site keeps working while each one is checked.

Your questions about industrial door motor replacement

Will our door in Sevenoaks be tested after the motor is changed?

Yes. We set limits, test the brake and manual override, check safety devices and measure closing forces where required, then give you a written record of the work and test results.

Do you replace motors on any make of door across Kent?

We replace motors on most makes of roller shutter, sectional, sliding and high-speed door across Kent, whoever installed them, subject to a suitable drive being available for the door's weight and mounting.

Should we replace the whole door instead of the motor in Sevenoaks?

If the door itself is old, damaged or needs several other repairs, replacement can be better value. We price both where it makes sense, so you can weigh up the cost and remaining life honestly.
