What we fit in Carshalton
- Fail-safe closing. Controlled descent on alarm or power loss, with governor speed control.
- Warning devices. Audible and visual warnings let people know the shutter is about to close.
- Records. You receive records of the installation, commissioning and first drop test for your files.
- Daily-use models. Where needed, the shutter can be motorised for daily traffic and still close on alarm.
- Certified install. We follow the certified installation details exactly, because the rating depends on them.
Typical scopes of work
- Installing a motorised fire shutter that also serves as the daily goods door between two warehouse compartments.
- Fitting battery back-up, a beacon and a sounder to a new fire shutter on a service corridor.
- Coordinating commissioning with the fire alarm contractor so the shutter release is proven during the same visit.
Who must keep fire shutters working at a site in Carshalton?
The responsible person, usually the employer, owner or managing agent, has the duty under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. Your fire risk assessment should list each shutter, how it is released and how often it is tested, and the London Fire Commissioner (London Fire Brigade) may ask how the shutters are maintained.
Planning the work around your site
For busy sites in Greater London the work can be split across visits — preparation and framing first, door installation and commissioning second — so the opening is only out of action for the shortest time.
