Options that matter on site
- Smart activation. The door opens only for the traffic you choose, from forklifts on loops to pedestrians on buttons.
- Spiral doors. Rigid insulated slats on a spiral for fast, secure, wind-resistant external doors.
- Self-repairing curtains. Many fabric doors re-feed into the guides after an impact on the next cycle.
- Fabric doors. PVC-coated fabric roll-up doors for internal routes and sheltered external openings.
- Light curtains. Full-height safety light curtains in the frame stop the door closing on anything.
Jobs we can carry out
- Fitting a wind-resistant high-speed fabric door to a sheltered external yard opening, with traffic lights for drivers.
- Installing an insulated spiral door as the main external opening on a temperature-controlled distribution unit.
- Interlocking two high-speed doors as an airlock between a clean production area and the general warehouse.
Who is responsible for door safety at a site in Forfar?
In Scotland, two sets of duties meet at a powered door. The installer who supplies or motorises it must hand over a door that meets the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008, tested against BS EN 12453 and documented. The business in control of the premises must then maintain it: regulation 5 of the Workplace Regulations 1992 covers maintenance, and regulation 18 requires upward-opening doors to have a device that stops them falling back and powered doors to have features that prevent trapping.
Access, phasing and timing
Sites in and around Forfar vary from tight trade counters to large distribution yards. The survey records access for our vehicle and platform, overhead obstructions and floor condition so the installation day runs without surprises.

Your questions about high-speed doors
Which type of high-speed door suits our Forfar site?
Fabric doors suit most internal openings and many sheltered external ones. Spiral doors suit exposed external openings and sites that need insulation and security from the same door. We recommend a type after looking at traffic, exposure and temperature on the survey.
Do high-speed doors in Forfar need more servicing than standard doors?
Usually, yes, because they cycle so often. We base the service interval on the cycle counter and the manufacturer's guidance rather than a fixed annual visit, and can set up a planned maintenance schedule.
How long does it take to install a high-speed door in Forfar?
A typical fabric door is fitted and commissioned in a day once it arrives. Spiral doors, interlocks and floor loops add time. The manufacturer's lead time is confirmed with your quote, and we fit around your operations.
