What we fit in Huntingdon
- Spiral doors. Aluminium slats that never touch as they run, giving speed, insulation and security in one door.
- Fabric doors. Lightweight roll-up curtains that suit most internal doorways and many protected external ones.
- Vision panels. See-through panels let drivers and pedestrians spot each other before the door opens.
- Breakaway bottom bars. If a truck catches the door, the bottom bar breaks away rather than bending the frame.
- Smart activation. Radar, loops, pull cords or interlocks set to the traffic using the door.
Examples of work we can quote for
- Installing an insulated spiral door as the main external opening on a temperature-controlled distribution unit.
- Interlocking two high-speed doors as an airlock between a clean production area and the general warehouse.
- Fitting a wind-resistant high-speed fabric door to a sheltered external yard opening, with traffic lights for drivers.
Powered door rules that apply in Huntingdon
Huntingdon is in England, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.
Keeping your site running during the work
If your premises are leased, check whether the landlord needs to approve the work. We can provide drawings and product data for the landlord or managing agent before the order is placed.

High-speed doors in Huntingdon: your questions
Do high-speed doors in Huntingdon need more servicing than standard doors?
Usually, yes, because they cycle so often. We base the service interval on the cycle counter and the manufacturer's guidance rather than a fixed annual visit, and can set up a planned maintenance schedule.
Do you repair high-speed doors across Cambridgeshire?
Yes. We repair fabric and spiral high-speed doors across Cambridgeshire, including curtains, bottom bars, drives, inverters and safety devices, subject to parts availability. Repair visits are chargeable and quoted up front.
What safety features will a high-speed door at our Huntingdon premises have?
Typically a full-height light curtain or photocells, limited closing forces, and on many fabric models a soft or breakaway bottom edge. The exact package comes from the risk assessment for your traffic and is tested before handover.
