Options for high-speed doors in Runcorn

Breakaway bottom bars. If a truck catches the door, the bottom bar breaks away rather than bending the frame.
Fabric doors. Lightweight roll-up curtains that suit most internal doorways and many protected external ones.
Spiral doors. Aluminium slats that never touch as they run, giving speed, insulation and security in one door.
Inverter drives. Soft start and stop protect the curtain and drive at high cycle rates.
Self-repairing curtains. Many fabric doors re-feed into the guides after an impact on the next cycle.

Typical scopes of work

Adding a high-speed fabric door inside an existing sectional door so the outer door can stay open during the shift.
Interlocking two high-speed doors as an airlock between a clean production area and the general warehouse.
Fitting a self-repairing fabric door between production and dispatch where a conventional shutter stands open all shift.

Safety law for industrial doors in England

Industrial doors in Runcorn are covered by the same rules as the rest of Great Britain. On handover you should receive user instructions and, for a powered door, the conformity paperwork, because the installer is treated as the manufacturer when they assemble or motorise it. Afterwards, keeping the door in efficient working order is the occupier's job under the Workplace Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998, which in practice means regular servicing and a written log.

Planning the work around your site

If your premises are leased, check whether the landlord needs to approve the work. We can provide drawings and product data for the landlord or managing agent before the order is placed.

High-speed doors in Runcorn: your questions

How long does it take to install a high-speed door in Runcorn?

A typical fabric door is fitted and commissioned in a day once it arrives. Spiral doors, interlocks and floor loops add time. The manufacturer's lead time is confirmed with your quote, and we fit around your operations.

Do high-speed doors in Runcorn need more servicing than standard doors?

Usually, yes, because they cycle so often. We base the service interval on the cycle counter and the manufacturer's guidance rather than a fixed annual visit, and can set up a planned maintenance schedule.

What safety features will a high-speed door at our Runcorn premises have?

Typically a full-height light curtain or photocells, limited closing forces, and on many fabric models a soft or breakaway bottom edge. The exact package comes from the risk assessment for your traffic and is tested before handover.
