High-speed doors in Prestwich

The short version

Is a busy door at your Prestwich premises left open all shift because closing it slows everyone down? A high-speed door closes behind each forklift in seconds, keeping heat, dust and pests where they belong.

Options that matter on site

Inverter drives. Soft start and stop protect the curtain and drive at high cycle rates.
Self-repairing curtains. Many fabric doors re-feed into the guides after an impact on the next cycle.
Spiral doors. Aluminium slats that never touch as they run, giving speed, insulation and security in one door.
Fabric doors. PVC-coated fabric roll-up doors for internal routes and sheltered external openings.
Smart activation. Radar, loops, pull cords or interlocks set to the traffic using the door.

What this work can involve

Adding a high-speed fabric door inside an existing sectional door so the outer door can stay open during the shift.
Interlocking two high-speed doors as an airlock between a clean production area and the general warehouse.
Replacing a worn fabric curtain, bottom bar and drive belt on a door logging thousands of cycles a week.

Powered door rules that apply in Prestwich

Prestwich is in England, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.

Keeping your site running during the work

Downtime matters on a working site, so the programme is set around your shifts. For a single door the opening is usually needed for a day; multi-door jobs are done one bay at a time so deliveries keep moving.
