Options that matter on site

Vision panels. See-through panels let drivers and pedestrians spot each other before the door opens.
Fabric doors. Lightweight roll-up curtains that suit most internal doorways and many protected external ones.
Smart activation. Radar, loops, pull cords or interlocks set to the traffic using the door.
Breakaway bottom bars. Bottom bars that release on impact to limit damage to the door and the vehicle.
Inverter drives. Soft start and stop protect the curtain and drive at high cycle rates.

What this work can involve

Installing an insulated spiral door as the main external opening on a temperature-controlled distribution unit.
Setting up radar with cross-traffic suppression so a door on a busy aisle opens only for approaching traffic.
Fitting a wind-resistant high-speed fabric door to a sheltered external yard opening, with traffic lights for drivers.

Powered door rules that apply in Stretford

Stretford is in England, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.

Planning the work around your site

Electrical work is the part that most often delays a job. If a new or converted door needs a supply, we confirm the motor's requirement at quote stage so your electrician can provide an isolator in the right place before installation day.
