What we fit in Welwyn Garden City

Smart activation. Radar, loops, pull cords or interlocks set to the traffic using the door.
Self-repairing curtains. After a knock, many curtains reset themselves automatically instead of waiting for an engineer.
Light curtains. Full-height safety light curtains in the frame stop the door closing on anything.
Fabric doors. PVC-coated fabric roll-up doors for internal routes and sheltered external openings.
Inverter drives. Soft start and stop protect the curtain and drive at high cycle rates.

What this work can involve

Cutting induction loops on both sides of a high-speed door so forklifts trigger it but pedestrians do not.
Installing an insulated spiral door as the main external opening on a temperature-controlled distribution unit.
Adding a high-speed fabric door inside an existing sectional door so the outer door can stay open during the shift.

Powered door rules that apply in Welwyn Garden City

Welwyn Garden City is in England, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.

How the work is organised

Most installations in Welwyn Garden City can be phased so part of the site keeps working. We agree access routes, exclusion zones and any temporary security with you before the team arrives, and can work early mornings, evenings or weekends where the business needs it.
