What we fit in Nelson

Vision panels. Clear vision strips or windows so drivers can see through the closed door.
Fabric doors. PVC-coated fabric roll-up doors for internal routes and sheltered external openings.
Breakaway bottom bars. If a truck catches the door, the bottom bar breaks away rather than bending the frame.
Smart activation. The door opens only for the traffic you choose, from forklifts on loops to pedestrians on buttons.
Inverter drives. A frequency inverter accelerates and brakes the curtain smoothly, cutting wear on every cycle.

Typical scopes of work

Replacing a worn fabric curtain, bottom bar and drive belt on a door logging thousands of cycles a week.
Adding a high-speed fabric door inside an existing sectional door so the outer door can stay open during the shift.
Installing an insulated spiral door as the main external opening on a temperature-controlled distribution unit.

Powered door rules that apply in Nelson

Nelson is in England, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.

How the work is organised

For busy sites in Lancashire the work can be split across visits — preparation and framing first, door installation and commissioning second — so the opening is only out of action for the shortest time.

Questions from businesses in Nelson

Do high-speed doors in Nelson need more servicing than standard doors?

Usually, yes, because they cycle so often. We base the service interval on the cycle counter and the manufacturer's guidance rather than a fixed annual visit, and can set up a planned maintenance schedule.

How much does a high-speed door cost in Nelson?

Our guide price is £7,495 to £15,995 ex VAT for a high-speed fabric door and £17,995 to £34,995 for a spiral (rigid slat) door, supplied and fitted. We survey your Nelson opening free of charge and then confirm a fixed price in writing.

What safety features will a high-speed door at our Nelson premises have?

Typically a full-height light curtain or photocells, limited closing forces, and on many fabric models a soft or breakaway bottom edge. The exact package comes from the risk assessment for your traffic and is tested before handover.
