High-speed doors in Aberdare

In short

Separating production from dispatch, chilled from ambient, or the yard from the warehouse in Aberdare? We supply and fit the high-speed door that suits that opening, then commission and hand it over with full documentation.

Town: Aberdare
Postcode district: CF44
Area: Mid Glamorgan
Survey: Free for new installations

What to specify

Fabric doors. Lightweight roll-up curtains that suit most internal doorways and many protected external ones.
Inverter drives. Soft start and stop protect the curtain and drive at high cycle rates.
Light curtains. Full-height safety light curtains in the frame stop the door closing on anything.
Vision panels. See-through panels let drivers and pedestrians spot each other before the door opens.
Breakaway bottom bars. If a truck catches the door, the bottom bar breaks away rather than bending the frame.

Typical scopes of work

Replacing a worn fabric curtain, bottom bar and drive belt on a door logging thousands of cycles a week.
Installing an insulated spiral door as the main external opening on a temperature-controlled distribution unit.
Interlocking two high-speed doors as an airlock between a clean production area and the general warehouse.

Powered door rules that apply in Aberdare

Aberdare is in Wales, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.

How the work is organised

Downtime matters on a working site, so the programme is set around your shifts. For a single door the opening is usually needed for a day; multi-door jobs are done one bay at a time so deliveries keep moving.

Questions from businesses in Aberdare

How much does a high-speed door cost in Aberdare?

Our guide price is £7,495 to £15,995 ex VAT for a high-speed fabric door and £17,995 to £34,995 for a spiral (rigid slat) door, supplied and fitted. We survey your Aberdare opening free of charge and then confirm a fixed price in writing.

What safety features will a high-speed door at our Aberdare premises have?

Typically a full-height light curtain or photocells, limited closing forces, and on many fabric models a soft or breakaway bottom edge. The exact package comes from the risk assessment for your traffic and is tested before handover.

Can you fit a high-speed door alongside our existing door in Aberdare?

Often, yes. A high-speed door can sit inside or outside an existing shutter or sectional door, with the conventional door closed at night. We check the space and fixings on survey.
