Industrial roller shutters in Annan

In short

Need a tough, space-saving door for a unit in Annan? Single-skin steel roller shutters coil neatly above the opening and can be manual or electric, with security upgrades where your insurer requires them.

Town: Annan
Postcode district: DG12
Area: Dumfries and Galloway
Survey: Free for new installations

What to specify

Manual override. Powered shutters keep a chain or handle override so they open without power.
Manual or electric. Hand-operated for occasional use, electric for anything opened through the working day.
Compact coil. Nothing runs back under the roof: the shutter coils up neatly above the lintel.
Safety devices. Safety edges, photocells and anti-fall devices on powered shutters.
Steel curtains. Heavier lath gauges for wide or exposed doors; lighter profiles where space and budget are tight.

What this work can involve

Renewing the bottom rail, floor seal and end locks on a roller shutter that jams in its guides.
Installing perforated shutters across a covered loading area so the space stays ventilated and visible when locked.
Replacing a vehicle-damaged shutter in a trade yard with a heavier-gauge curtain and guide-rail protection.

Safety law for industrial doors in Scotland

Industrial doors in Annan are covered by the same rules as the rest of Great Britain. On handover you should receive user instructions and, for a powered door, the conformity paperwork, because the installer is treated as the manufacturer when they assemble or motorise it. Afterwards, keeping the door in efficient working order is the occupier's job under the Workplace Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998, which in practice means regular servicing and a written log.

Access, phasing and timing

Most installations in Annan can be phased so part of the site keeps working. We agree access routes, exclusion zones and any temporary security with you before the team arrives, and can work early mornings, evenings or weekends where the business needs it.
