Industrial roller shutters in Dalkeith

The short version

We can fit new steel roller shutters and replace old, damaged ones in Dalkeith and across Edinburgh and the Lothians, with strip-out, disposal and any new framing priced up front after a free site survey.

Town: Dalkeith
Postcode district: EH22
Area: Edinburgh and the Lothians
Survey: Free for new installations

What to specify

Steel curtains. Galvanised steel laths in gauges to suit the width and the level of abuse expected.
Manual override. Powered shutters keep a chain or handle override so they open without power.
Mounting options. Fixed inside, in the reveal or face-fixed outside with a protective hood.
Compact coil. The curtain winds onto a barrel above the opening, leaving floor and roof space free.
Manual or electric. Hand-operated for occasional use, electric for anything opened through the working day.

Jobs we can carry out

Replacing a vehicle-damaged shutter in a trade yard with a heavier-gauge curtain and guide-rail protection.
Converting hand-chained shutters on a storage unit to electric operation with key-switch controls and safety edges.
Renewing the bottom rail, floor seal and end locks on a roller shutter that jams in its guides.

Safety law for industrial doors in Scotland

Industrial doors in Dalkeith are covered by the same rules as the rest of Great Britain. On handover you should receive user instructions and, for a powered door, the conformity paperwork, because the installer is treated as the manufacturer when they assemble or motorise it. Afterwards, keeping the door in efficient working order is the occupier's job under the Workplace Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998, which in practice means regular servicing and a written log.

Keeping your site running during the work

For busy sites in Edinburgh and the Lothians the work can be split across visits — preparation and framing first, door installation and commissioning second — so the opening is only out of action for the shortest time.
