What we fit in Livingston

Weather seals. Seals along the guides, head and bottom rail stop wind-driven rain and cold air getting in.
Colour choice. Powder-coated RAL finishes to match cladding and building trims.
Wind locks. On exposed elevations, wind locks hook the laths into the guides so gusts cannot push the curtain out.
Electric drive. Tubular or external geared motors with a manual override for power cuts.
Controls. Buttons, key switches, remotes, induction loops or radar to suit your traffic.

What this work can involve

Fitting a compact insulated service door to a plant room to reduce the noise reaching neighbouring offices.
Replacing a corroded single-skin shutter on a heated workshop with an insulated roller door and radio remote control.
Adding wind locks and a heavier geared motor to a wide insulated roller door on an exposed elevation.

Powered door rules that apply in Livingston

Livingston is in Scotland, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.

Access, phasing and timing

Downtime matters on a working site, so the programme is set around your shifts. For a single door the opening is usually needed for a day; multi-door jobs are done one bay at a time so deliveries keep moving.

Your questions about insulated roller shutter doors

How long does insulated roller door installation take in Livingston?

Most single doors are fitted and commissioned in a day once the made-to-measure door has arrived. The manufacturer's lead time is confirmed with your quote so you can plan around it.

Is there enough headroom for an insulated roller door at our Livingston unit?

The coil on an insulated curtain is larger than on a single-skin shutter, so we measure the space above the lintel on survey. Where headroom is very tight, the coil can sometimes be fitted outside the opening or a lower-profile option chosen.

Can you replace our old roller shutter in Livingston with an insulated one?

Yes. We recommend a complete new door rather than a new curtain on old parts, and include strip-out and disposal in the quote so the old shutter goes when the new one is fitted.
