Options for insulated roller shutter doors in South Ockendon

Electric drive. Motor inside the barrel or on its end, with a chain or handle so the door still opens without power.
Weather seals. Seals along the guides, head and bottom rail stop wind-driven rain and cold air getting in.
Colour choice. Powder-coated RAL finishes to match cladding and building trims.
Safety devices. Safety edges, photocells and anti-fall devices fitted as the risk assessment requires.
Compact coil. The curtain coils above the opening, leaving ceilings free for lights and sprinklers.

Typical scopes of work

Installing an insulated roller door with induction loop activation on a busy internal forklift route.
Converting a hand-chained insulated roller door to electric operation with a safety edge and photocells.

Powered door rules that apply in South Ockendon

South Ockendon is in England, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.

Keeping your site running during the work

Before work starts we send a method statement and risk assessment, confirm who on site will be our contact and agree where materials and access equipment will go. On shared industrial estates that can mean booking yard space with the landlord.

Frequently asked questions

Will an insulated roller door cut heating bills at our South Ockendon premises?

It loses much less heat than a single-skin shutter, especially with good seals and quick electric operation. How much you save depends on your building, heating system and how long the door stays open.

How long does insulated roller door installation take in South Ockendon?

Most single doors are fitted and commissioned in a day once the made-to-measure door has arrived. The manufacturer's lead time is confirmed with your quote so you can plan around it.

Is there enough headroom for an insulated roller door at our South Ockendon unit?

The coil on an insulated curtain is larger than on a single-skin shutter, so we measure the space above the lintel on survey. Where headroom is very tight, the coil can sometimes be fitted outside the opening or a lower-profile option chosen.
