Options for insulated roller shutter doors in Preston

Weather seals. Seals along the guides, head and bottom rail stop wind-driven rain and cold air getting in.
Electric drive. Motor inside the barrel or on its end, with a chain or handle so the door still opens without power.
Compact coil. No tracks under the roof: the door rolls up into a neat coil above the lintel.
Colour choice. Choose a colour to suit your building, with a matching hood over the coil if wanted.
Safety devices. Every powered door gets the safety functions its risk assessment calls for and is tested before handover.

Jobs we can carry out

Renewing worn guide brushes, the head seal and the bottom-rail seal on an insulated roller door that lets in draughts.
Installing an insulated roller door with induction loop activation on a busy internal forklift route.
Supplying insulated roller doors in one matching RAL colour across a terrace of refurbished small business units.

Safety law for industrial doors in England

Industrial doors in Preston are covered by the same rules as the rest of Great Britain. On handover you should receive user instructions and, for a powered door, the conformity paperwork, because the installer is treated as the manufacturer when they assemble or motorise it. Afterwards, keeping the door in efficient working order is the occupier's job under the Workplace Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998, which in practice means regular servicing and a written log.

Access, phasing and timing

Where a door is being replaced, the opening has to be made secure at the end of each day. We plan strip-out, any new framing and the new door so the gap is never left open overnight unless you have agreed temporary measures.

Insulated roller shutter doors in Preston: your questions

Is there enough headroom for an insulated roller door at our Preston unit?

The coil on an insulated curtain is larger than on a single-skin shutter, so we measure the space above the lintel on survey. Where headroom is very tight, the coil can sometimes be fitted outside the opening or a lower-profile option chosen.

How long does insulated roller door installation take in Preston?

Most single doors are fitted and commissioned in a day once the made-to-measure door has arrived. The manufacturer's lead time is confirmed with your quote so you can plan around it.

Can you replace our old roller shutter in Preston with an insulated one?

Yes. We recommend a complete new door rather than a new curtain on old parts, and include strip-out and disposal in the quote so the old shutter goes when the new one is fitted.
