Options that matter on site
- Controls. From a simple button station to loops and radar, the controls match how often the door opens.
- Wind locks. On exposed elevations, wind locks hook the laths into the guides so gusts cannot push the curtain out.
- Safety devices. Safety edges, photocells and anti-fall devices fitted as the risk assessment requires.
- Compact coil. No tracks under the roof: the door rolls up into a neat coil above the lintel.
- Electric drive. Motor inside the barrel or on its end, with a chain or handle so the door still opens without power.
Jobs we can carry out
- Installing an insulated roller door with induction loop activation on a busy internal forklift route.
- Fitting an insulated roller door to a trade counter unit where sprinkler mains leave no room for sectional door tracks.
- Converting a hand-chained insulated roller door to electric operation with a safety edge and photocells.
Safety law for industrial doors in England
Industrial doors in Prescot are covered by the same rules as the rest of Great Britain. On handover you should receive user instructions and, for a powered door, the conformity paperwork, because the installer is treated as the manufacturer when they assemble or motorise it. Afterwards, keeping the door in efficient working order is the occupier's job under the Workplace Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998, which in practice means regular servicing and a written log.
Planning the work around your site
Electrical work is the part that most often delays a job. If a new or converted door needs a supply, we confirm the motor's requirement at quote stage so your electrician can provide an isolator in the right place before installation day.
