Options that matter on site
- Shelters and seals. Retractable, inflatable or foam shelters around the trailer.
- Dock levellers. Hydraulic levellers chosen for your vehicle bed heights and handling equipment.
- Interlocks. Linked controls stop the door closing on the leveller or the leveller deploying too early.
- Traffic lights. Inside and outside lights show when the bay is safe to use.
- One package. Door, leveller, shelter, bumpers and lights specified together.
Jobs we can carry out
- Repairing damaged pit edges and fitting new telescopic levellers, shelters and bumpers at a manufacturing site.
- Phasing bay refurbishment at a cold store, one bay per weekend, so temperature-controlled loading carries on.
- Specifying vehicle restraints, traffic lights and dock lights as part of a review of how trailers leave the dock.
What the law expects at a loading bay
Across Great Britain, including Stirling, loading bays bring together several duties: maintained work equipment under PUWER 1998, safe traffic routes under the Workplace Regulations 1992, and safe powered doors under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008. Dock levellers should meet BS EN 1398, and the site's risk assessment should cover vehicle creep and drive-aways.
Planning the work around your site
Where a door is being replaced, the opening has to be made secure at the end of each day. We plan strip-out, any new framing and the new door so the gap is never left open overnight unless you have agreed temporary measures.

Frequently asked questions
Can you refurbish our loading bays in Stirling without closing the site?
Yes. Bays can be refurbished one at a time so the others stay in use, and work can be done out of hours where needed. Each bay is commissioned before we move on to the next.
Do you maintain loading bay equipment across Forth Valley?
Yes. We service and repair doors, levellers, shelters and controls across Forth Valley, and can set up planned maintenance covering every item at the bay. Service and repair visits are chargeable.
Can a loading bay be added to our Stirling unit without a pit?
Often, yes. A loading house built out in front of the door, or an edge-of-dock leveller for light use, avoids cutting a pit in the floor. We check which option suits the building and the traffic on survey.
