Options that matter on site

Safety devices. Every powered door is fitted with the safety functions its risk assessment needs and force-tested before handover.
Paperwork. You get the manufacturer's Declaration of Performance plus commissioning and test records for your files.
Vision panels. Add a row of vision panels or full-vision aluminium sections for daylight and a clear view of vehicles outside.
Finishes. Choose a colour to match your building and a stucco or ribbed finish that hides minor knocks.
Wicket doors. A pass door built into the panels saves opening the whole door for pedestrians; low-threshold options reduce trips.

What this work can involve

Replacing a draughty single-skin roller shutter with an insulated sectional door and a low-threshold wicket door.
Fitting a bank of insulated sectional doors to a new distribution unit, with high-lift tracks to clear sprinkler mains and lighting.
Supplying full-vision aluminium sections for a vehicle workshop door so technicians get daylight without opening the door.

Safety law for industrial doors in Scotland

Industrial doors in Penicuik are covered by the same rules as the rest of Great Britain. On handover you should receive user instructions and, for a powered door, the conformity paperwork, because the installer is treated as the manufacturer when they assemble or motorise it. Afterwards, keeping the door in efficient working order is the occupier's job under the Workplace Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998, which in practice means regular servicing and a written log.

Planning the work around your site

Sites in and around Penicuik vary from tight trade counters to large distribution yards. The survey records access for our vehicle and platform, overhead obstructions and floor condition so the installation day runs without surprises.

Sectional overhead doors in Penicuik: your questions

How soon can a sectional door be fitted in Penicuik?

Sectional doors are made to measure, so the manufacturer's lead time sets the date. We confirm it with the quote, book installation around your operations and fit most single doors in a day once the opening is ready.

Can you replace a roller shutter with a sectional door at our Penicuik unit?

Usually, yes, provided there is enough headroom and side room for the tracks. Low-headroom track kits cover many older units. We check this on the survey and include strip-out and making good in the quote.

Will a sectional door reduce heating costs at our Penicuik premises?

An insulated, well-sealed sectional door loses much less heat than a single-skin shutter, and keeping it closed with fast electric operation helps further. Actual savings depend on your building, heating and how often the door is open.
