At a glance
Strip curtains are the simplest way to part-close a busy opening in Chippenham (SN15). Hook-on strips make wear easy to deal with, ribbed strips cope with forklifts, and polar grades keep working in freezers.

What to specify
- Draught control. Strips cut the loss of heated or chilled air through busy openings.
- Hook-on strips. Worn strips lift off and new ones hook on in seconds.
- Specialist grades. Anti-insect, anti-static and weld-screen strips for specific areas.
- Polar grade. Freezer-grade strips stay soft and pliable instead of stiffening in the cold.
- No power. With no electrics involved, the curtain keeps working with only cleaning and strip renewal.
Typical scopes of work
- Fitting ribbed PVC strip curtains inside loading bay doors so the doors can stay open between deliveries.
- Hanging a polar-grade strip curtain behind a cold store door to reduce the cold air lost during loading.
- Installing weld-screen strip curtains around welding bays in a fabrication workshop to protect nearby staff.
Keeping strip curtains safe in England
The business running the site in Chippenham must keep traffic routes safe and equipment maintained under the Workplace Regulations 1992. For strip curtains that means clear, undamaged strips that let drivers and pedestrians see each other, and a separate pedestrian route where traffic is heavy.
How the work is organised
Where a door is being replaced, the opening has to be made secure at the end of each day. We plan strip-out, any new framing and the new door so the gap is never left open overnight unless you have agreed temporary measures.

Frequently asked questions
Which strip curtain grade suits our Chippenham premises?
Standard clear PVC suits most ambient doorways. Polar grade is needed for chillers and freezers, ribbed strips for heavy forklift routes, and tinted grades for insect control or welding areas. We recommend a grade after seeing the opening.
Do strip curtains work in cold stores around Wiltshire?
Yes, with polar-grade PVC that stays flexible at low temperatures. We fit strip curtains inside cold store and freezer doors across Wiltshire to cut the cold air lost while doors are open.
Is a strip curtain or a high-speed door better for our Chippenham site?
A strip curtain costs far less and suits most openings. A high-speed door seals better, keeps a clear view and suits very busy or temperature-critical openings. We price both where either could work.
