- Vision panels. See-through panels let people and drivers spot someone coming the other way.
- Double-acting. Push through from either side and the leaves close themselves behind you.
- Hygienic surfaces. Smooth, washable leaves suited to food and pharmaceutical areas.
- No power needed. No motors, sensors or controls to maintain.
- Leaf choices. Choose a leaf for toughness, hygiene, insulation or appearance depending on where it hangs.
Typical scopes of work
- Supplying rubber traffic doors for a busy pallet truck route in a parcel sorting warehouse.
- Replacing worn strip curtains with hygienic traffic doors in a food production area to make cleaning easier.
- Fitting polyethylene traffic doors between a shop floor and stockroom where roll cages damage ordinary doors.
Door rules for workplaces in Scotland
Doors in Glasgow workplaces are covered by regulation 18 of the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992: a door that can be pushed open from either side must give, when closed, a clear view of the space close to both sides, which is why swing doors on traffic routes have vision panels. Under the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Fire Safety (Scotland) Regulations 2006, emergency exit doors must open easily and immediately in the direction of escape.
How the work is organised
If your premises are leased, check whether the landlord needs to approve the work. We can provide drawings and product data for the landlord or managing agent before the order is placed.

Frequently asked questions
Are traffic doors suitable for forklift routes at our Glasgow warehouse?
Generally not. Forklifts are too heavy and fast for most traffic doors and quickly damage the leaves. For forklift routes we would usually recommend a high-speed door or a strip curtain instead.
How long does it take to fit traffic doors in Glasgow?
A pair of traffic doors usually takes a few hours to fit once made to size. Work can often be done between shifts or outside opening hours, so normal operations are barely affected.
Which traffic door material suits our Glasgow site?
Polyethylene suits most warehouse and food areas, rubber takes heavier pallet truck impacts, insulated leaves help in chilled areas and stainless steel suits kitchens. We recommend one after seeing your traffic and cleaning needs.
