Options that matter on site
- No power needed. With no electrics to fail, traffic doors keep working with very little upkeep.
- Wear protection. Replaceable kick plates and bumpers protect the leaves where trolleys hit most.
- Vision panels. Clear panels at eye level so people see each other before pushing through.
- Double-acting. Leaves open both ways and swing back to centre on their own.
- Impact-tolerant. Built to take repeated knocks from roll cages and pallet trucks without damage.
Jobs we can carry out
- Renewing cracked leaves, kick plates and gravity hinges on traffic doors in a busy service corridor.
- Replacing worn strip curtains with hygienic traffic doors in a food production area to make cleaning easier.
- Fitting polyethylene traffic doors between a shop floor and stockroom where roll cages damage ordinary doors.
Door rules for workplaces in England
Doors in the Isle of Wight workplaces are covered by regulation 18 of the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992: a door that can be pushed open from either side must give, when closed, a clear view of the space close to both sides, which is why swing doors on traffic routes have vision panels. Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, emergency exit doors must open easily and immediately in the direction of escape.
How the work is organised
Before work starts we send a method statement and risk assessment, confirm who on site will be our contact and agree where materials and access equipment will go. On shared industrial estates that can mean booking yard space with the landlord.

Your questions about impact traffic doors
Are traffic doors suitable for forklift routes at our the Isle of Wight warehouse?
Generally not. Forklifts are too heavy and fast for most traffic doors and quickly damage the leaves. For forklift routes we would usually recommend a high-speed door or a strip curtain instead.
How much do impact traffic doors cost in the Isle of Wight?
Our guide price is £895 to £2,495 ex VAT for a pair of impact traffic doors, supplied and fitted. Material, size, insulation and vision panels set the price, which we confirm in writing after a free survey in the Isle of Wight.
Will traffic doors in the Isle of Wight help keep areas warm or cool?
They cut draughts and help separate temperature zones, particularly with insulated leaves. For chillers and freezers, a dedicated cold store door is needed, sometimes with traffic doors or strips used inside.
