Industrial door work in Torquay
Working in Torquay? We also take on jobs in Paignton, Newton Abbot, Exmouth and across Devon.
Before work starts we send a method statement and risk assessment, confirm who on site will be our contact and agree where materials and access equipment will go. On shared industrial estates that can mean booking yard space with the landlord.
Safety law for industrial doors in England
Industrial doors in Torquay are covered by the same rules as the rest of Great Britain. On handover you should receive user instructions and, for a powered door, the conformity paperwork, because the installer is treated as the manufacturer when they assemble or motorise it. Afterwards, keeping the door in efficient working order is the occupier's job under the Workplace Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998, which in practice means regular servicing and a written log.
Who must keep fire shutters working at a site in Torquay?
The responsible person, usually the employer, owner or managing agent, has the duty under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. Your fire risk assessment should list each shutter, how it is released and how often it is tested, and the local fire and rescue authority may ask how the shutters are maintained.
