Industrial door work in Aberystwyth
Besides Aberystwyth, we can survey and quote for sites in Llandrindod Wells, Newtown, Carmarthen and the rest of Dyfed.
Before work starts we send a method statement and risk assessment, confirm who on site will be our contact and agree where materials and access equipment will go. On shared industrial estates that can mean booking yard space with the landlord.
Powered door rules that apply in Aberystwyth
Aberystwyth is in Wales, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.
Who must keep fire shutters working at a site in Aberystwyth?
The responsible person, usually the employer, owner or managing agent, has the duty under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, as it applies in Wales. Your fire risk assessment should list each shutter, how it is released and how often it is tested, and Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service may ask how the shutters are maintained.
Questions from businesses in Aberystwyth
Do you cover Aberystwyth?
Yes. We survey, install, repair and service industrial doors and loading bay equipment for businesses in Aberystwyth and the rest of Dyfed. Tell us the site postcode and what you need and we will arrange a visit.
How quickly can you quote for a site in Aberystwyth?
We aim to book a survey at a time that suits your site and send a written fixed price after it. Simple like-for-like jobs can sometimes be priced from clear photos and measurements first.
Is the survey free for sites in Aberystwyth?
Surveys for new doors, replacements and loading bay installations are free. Repair and servicing visits are chargeable, with the attendance price agreed before we come out.
Do prices in Dyfed differ from the guide prices?
Guide prices apply to mainland UK sites. For islands and remote sites, travel and access costs are added and shown in your quote. Your fixed price depends on the door, size, access and working hours, and is confirmed in writing after the survey.
