Industrial door work in Thetford
Working in Thetford? We also take on jobs in Bury St Edmunds, Newmarket, Stowmarket and across Norfolk.
Before work starts we send a method statement and risk assessment, confirm who on site will be our contact and agree where materials and access equipment will go. On shared industrial estates that can mean booking yard space with the landlord.
Who is responsible for door safety at a site in Thetford?
In England, two sets of duties meet at a powered door. The installer who supplies or motorises it must hand over a door that meets the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008, tested against BS EN 12453 and documented. The business in control of the premises must then maintain it: regulation 5 of the Workplace Regulations 1992 covers maintenance, and regulation 18 requires upward-opening doors to have a device that stops them falling back and powered doors to have features that prevent trapping.
Fire safety duties for shutters in Thetford
In England, fire shutters are part of the fire precautions the responsible person must keep maintained under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005: in efficient working order and in good repair. Testing at suitable intervals and keeping the results is expected good practice and supports your fire risk assessment. Enforcement in Thetford is by the local fire and rescue authority.
Questions from businesses in Thetford
Who will we contract with for work in Thetford?
Your contract is with S&K Property Investments and Improvement Ltd, which trades as Industrial Door Installers. The written quote sets out the scope, price and payment terms.
Can you work outside normal hours in Thetford?
Yes. Many installations and fire shutter tests are done early, late or at weekends to avoid disrupting operations. Out-of-hours working is priced in the written quote.
Do you cover Thetford?
Yes. We survey, install, repair and service industrial doors and loading bay equipment for businesses in Thetford and the rest of Norfolk. Tell us the site postcode and what you need and we will arrange a visit.
Do prices in Norfolk differ from the guide prices?
Guide prices apply to mainland UK sites. For islands and remote sites, travel and access costs are added and shown in your quote. Your fixed price depends on the door, size, access and working hours, and is confirmed in writing after the survey.
