What we fit in Thetford
- Pressure relief. Relief valves to balance pressure after the door closes or during defrost.
- Impact protection. Kick plates, buffers and bollards to keep trucks off leaves and frames.
- Heated frames. Heater cables in freezer door frames stop ice welding the seals shut.
- Tight seals. The leaf pulls in against its gaskets on closing so cold air stays where it belongs.
- Hygienic finishes. Smooth, cleanable finishes chosen to meet your hygiene and audit standards.
Typical scopes of work
- Motorising a heavy manual cold store door with pull-cord activation, a safety edge on the closing leaf and photocells.
- Adding a heated pressure relief valve to a freezer room where suction makes the door hard to open once it closes.
- Installing a high-speed freezer door in front of an existing sliding cold store door on a busy picking route.
Powered door rules that apply in Thetford
Thetford is in England, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.
Access, phasing and timing

Cold store and freezer doors in Thetford: your questions
Do you repair cold store doors in Thetford?
Yes. We replace gaskets, frame heaters, rollers, tracks, releases and drives on most makes. Repair visits are chargeable, and we quote before larger repairs or recommend replacement when the leaf itself has failed.
Why is our cold room door in Thetford hard to open after it closes?
Usually negative pressure: air inside cools and contracts once the door seals. A correctly sized pressure relief valve, heated on freezers, solves this. We check for one on survey and can fit it with a new door.
Can you replace a freezer door at our Thetford site without losing stock?
We plan the change with you and your refrigeration engineer. Many doors can be swapped in a day, sometimes with stock moved or the plant set back temporarily, so the room returns to temperature quickly.
