Options for bollards and door protection in Cirencester
- Wheel guides. Steel guides steer trailers straight into the middle of each bay.
- Suitable fixings. Base-plated or set in foundations, chosen for your slab.
- High visibility. Yellow or yellow-and-black finishes that drivers notice.
- Guide-rail guards. Guards over the base of door guides and tracks, where most hits land.
- Polymer bollards. Flexible bollards that absorb impact and spring back.
Typical scopes of work
- Installing wheel guides and corner bollards on a run of loading bays to protect the shelter frames.
- Placing bollards beside a fire shutter so stored goods and trucks cannot obstruct its closing line.
- Setting concrete-filled steel bollards in excavated foundations to protect a yard roller shutter from HGV impact.
What the law expects at a loading bay
Across Great Britain, including Cirencester, loading bays bring together several duties: maintained work equipment under PUWER 1998, safe traffic routes under the Workplace Regulations 1992, and safe powered doors under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008. Dock levellers should meet BS EN 1398, and the site's risk assessment should cover vehicle creep and drive-aways.
Planning the work around your site
Most installations in Cirencester can be phased so part of the site keeps working. We agree access routes, exclusion zones and any temporary security with you before the team arrives, and can work early mornings, evenings or weekends where the business needs it.
