Options that matter on site
- Thick insulation. Insulation thickness is chosen for your operating temperature, with heavier leaves for freezers.
- Pressure relief. Relief valves to balance pressure after the door closes or during defrost.
- Heated frames. Heater cables in freezer door frames stop ice welding the seals shut.
- Electric sliding. Powered sliding doors that open on demand and close automatically, with full safety devices.
- Inside release. Every door can be opened from inside without a key, even if locked from outside.
Examples of work we can quote for
- Motorising a heavy manual cold store door with pull-cord activation, a safety edge on the closing leaf and photocells.
- Protecting new cold store door frames with steel buffers and bollards on a busy forklift route.
- Installing a high-speed freezer door in front of an existing sliding cold store door on a busy picking route.
Safety law for industrial doors in England
Industrial doors in Amersham are covered by the same rules as the rest of Great Britain. On handover you should receive user instructions and, for a powered door, the conformity paperwork, because the installer is treated as the manufacturer when they assemble or motorise it. Afterwards, keeping the door in efficient working order is the occupier's job under the Workplace Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998, which in practice means regular servicing and a written log.
Keeping your site running during the work
Electrical work is the part that most often delays a job. If a new or converted door needs a supply, we confirm the motor's requirement at quote stage so your electrician can provide an isolator in the right place before installation day.
