Options for cold store and freezer doors in St Neots
- Electric sliding. Powered sliding doors that open on demand and close automatically, with full safety devices.
- Pressure relief. We check pressure relief so a tightly sealed room does not suck the door shut.
- Inside release. An emergency release on the inside face so nobody can be shut in.
- Hygienic finishes. Smooth, cleanable finishes chosen to meet your hygiene and audit standards.
- Tight seals. Compressible gaskets pressed against the frame as the door closes.
Jobs we can carry out
- Fitting a hinged chiller door with a stainless steel finish to a walk-in cold room in a commercial kitchen.
- Fitting freezer-grade PVC strip curtains behind cold store doors that stand open during loading.
- Adding a heated pressure relief valve to a freezer room where suction makes the door hard to open once it closes.
Safety law for industrial doors in England
Industrial doors in St Neots are covered by the same rules as the rest of Great Britain. On handover you should receive user instructions and, for a powered door, the conformity paperwork, because the installer is treated as the manufacturer when they assemble or motorise it. Afterwards, keeping the door in efficient working order is the occupier's job under the Workplace Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998, which in practice means regular servicing and a written log.
How the work is organised
Sites in and around St Neots vary from tight trade counters to large distribution yards. The survey records access for our vehicle and platform, overhead obstructions and floor condition so the installation day runs without surprises.

Your questions about cold store and freezer doors
Can you replace a freezer door at our St Neots site without losing stock?
We plan the change with you and your refrigeration engineer. Many doors can be swapped in a day, sometimes with stock moved or the plant set back temporarily, so the room returns to temperature quickly.
What safety release do cold store doors in St Neots need?
Every cold store door should open from inside without a key or tool, even when locked from outside. We fit a clearly marked inside release and can add an alarm button connected to a monitored panel.
Do you repair cold store doors in St Neots?
Yes. We replace gaskets, frame heaters, rollers, tracks, releases and drives on most makes. Repair visits are chargeable, and we quote before larger repairs or recommend replacement when the leaf itself has failed.
