What we fit in Peterlee
- Impact protection. Protection around the opening helps stop forklifts damaging expensive insulated leaves.
- Inside release. An emergency release on the inside face so nobody can be shut in.
- Thick insulation. Insulation thickness is chosen for your operating temperature, with heavier leaves for freezers.
- Heated frames. Freezer frames and thresholds are kept just warm enough that ice cannot form on the seals.
- Pressure relief. We check pressure relief so a tightly sealed room does not suck the door shut.
Typical scopes of work
- Fitting freezer-grade PVC strip curtains behind cold store doors that stand open during loading.
- Fitting a hinged chiller door with a stainless steel finish to a walk-in cold room in a commercial kitchen.
- Protecting new cold store door frames with steel buffers and bollards on a busy forklift route.
Powered door rules that apply in Peterlee
Peterlee is in England, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.
