Options that matter on site

Pressure relief. Relief valves to balance pressure after the door closes or during defrost.
Impact protection. Kick plates, buffers and bollards to keep trucks off leaves and frames.
Thick insulation. Foam-filled leaves sized to the room temperature, from chillers to freezers.
Heated frames. Freezer frames and thresholds are kept just warm enough that ice cannot form on the seals.
Electric sliding. Powered sliding doors that open on demand and close automatically, with full safety devices.

What this work can involve

Renewing worn gaskets and the frame heater on a chiller door that no longer seals properly.
Replacing an iced-up sliding freezer door with a new insulated door, heated frame and heated threshold.
Installing a high-speed freezer door in front of an existing sliding cold store door on a busy picking route.

Safety law for industrial doors in England

Industrial doors in Hounslow are covered by the same rules as the rest of Great Britain. On handover you should receive user instructions and, for a powered door, the conformity paperwork, because the installer is treated as the manufacturer when they assemble or motorise it. Afterwards, keeping the door in efficient working order is the occupier's job under the Workplace Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998, which in practice means regular servicing and a written log.

Access, phasing and timing

Sites in and around Hounslow vary from tight trade counters to large distribution yards. The survey records access for our vehicle and platform, overhead obstructions and floor condition so the installation day runs without surprises.
