Options for cold store and freezer doors in Twickenham

Electric sliding. Motorised sliding doors with pull cords, radar or loops and safety edges.
Pressure relief. We check pressure relief so a tightly sealed room does not suck the door shut.
Hygienic finishes. Smooth, cleanable finishes chosen to meet your hygiene and audit standards.
Inside release. An emergency release on the inside face so nobody can be shut in.
Impact protection. Protection around the opening helps stop forklifts damaging expensive insulated leaves.

What this work can involve

Motorising a heavy manual cold store door with pull-cord activation, a safety edge on the closing leaf and photocells.
Adding a heated pressure relief valve to a freezer room where suction makes the door hard to open once it closes.
Replacing an iced-up sliding freezer door with a new insulated door, heated frame and heated threshold.

Safety law for industrial doors in England

Industrial doors in Twickenham are covered by the same rules as the rest of Great Britain. On handover you should receive user instructions and, for a powered door, the conformity paperwork, because the installer is treated as the manufacturer when they assemble or motorise it. Afterwards, keeping the door in efficient working order is the occupier's job under the Workplace Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998, which in practice means regular servicing and a written log.

How the work is organised

Most installations in Twickenham can be phased so part of the site keeps working. We agree access routes, exclusion zones and any temporary security with you before the team arrives, and can work early mornings, evenings or weekends where the business needs it.

Questions from businesses in Twickenham

Do you supply cold store doors for food businesses in Greater London?

Yes. We supply and fit cold store doors with hygienic finishes for food producers, processors, distributors and commercial kitchens across Greater London, and we talk through your hygiene, cleaning and audit requirements at the survey before recommending a finish.

Why is our cold room door in Twickenham hard to open after it closes?

Usually negative pressure: air inside cools and contracts once the door seals. A correctly sized pressure relief valve, heated on freezers, solves this. We check for one on survey and can fit it with a new door.

Do you repair cold store doors in Twickenham?

Yes. We replace gaskets, frame heaters, rollers, tracks, releases and drives on most makes. Repair visits are chargeable, and we quote before larger repairs or recommend replacement when the leaf itself has failed.
