Options for cold store and freezer doors in Nottingham
- Pressure relief. We check pressure relief so a tightly sealed room does not suck the door shut.
- Electric sliding. Powered sliding doors that open on demand and close automatically, with full safety devices.
- Hygienic finishes. Smooth, cleanable finishes chosen to meet your hygiene and audit standards.
- Heated frames. Heater cables in freezer door frames stop ice welding the seals shut.
- Impact protection. Kick plates, buffers and bollards to keep trucks off leaves and frames.
Typical scopes of work
- Renewing worn gaskets and the frame heater on a chiller door that no longer seals properly.
- Adding a heated pressure relief valve to a freezer room where suction makes the door hard to open once it closes.
- Fitting a hinged chiller door with a stainless steel finish to a walk-in cold room in a commercial kitchen.
Who is responsible for door safety at a site in Nottingham?
In England, two sets of duties meet at a powered door. The installer who supplies or motorises it must hand over a door that meets the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008, tested against BS EN 12453 and documented. The business in control of the premises must then maintain it: regulation 5 of the Workplace Regulations 1992 covers maintenance, and regulation 18 requires upward-opening doors to have a device that stops them falling back and powered doors to have features that prevent trapping.
Access, phasing and timing
Sites in and around Nottingham vary from tight trade counters to large distribution yards. The survey records access for our vehicle and platform, overhead obstructions and floor condition so the installation day runs without surprises.

Cold store and freezer doors in Nottingham: your questions
How much does a cold store or freezer door cost in Nottingham?

Do you repair cold store doors in Nottingham?
Yes. We replace gaskets, frame heaters, rollers, tracks, releases and drives on most makes. Repair visits are chargeable, and we quote before larger repairs or recommend replacement when the leaf itself has failed.

Often, yes, if the leaf and track are sound, or with a new electric sliding door. Powered cold store doors need safety edges and photocells and a drive suited to the temperature.
