Options for cold store and freezer doors in Nailsea

Hygienic finishes. Plastisol-coated steel, stainless steel or GRP for food and pharmaceutical use.
Pressure relief. Relief valves to balance pressure after the door closes or during defrost.
Tight seals. Compressible gaskets pressed against the frame as the door closes.
Inside release. An emergency release on the inside face so nobody can be shut in.
Electric sliding. Powered sliding doors that open on demand and close automatically, with full safety devices.

Typical scopes of work

Adding a heated pressure relief valve to a freezer room where suction makes the door hard to open once it closes.
Installing a high-speed freezer door in front of an existing sliding cold store door on a busy picking route.
Motorising a heavy manual cold store door with pull-cord activation, a safety edge on the closing leaf and photocells.

Safety law for industrial doors in England

Industrial doors in Nailsea are covered by the same rules as the rest of Great Britain. On handover you should receive user instructions and, for a powered door, the conformity paperwork, because the installer is treated as the manufacturer when they assemble or motorise it. Afterwards, keeping the door in efficient working order is the occupier's job under the Workplace Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998, which in practice means regular servicing and a written log.

How the work is organised

Electrical work is the part that most often delays a job. If a new or converted door needs a supply, we confirm the motor's requirement at quote stage so your electrician can provide an isolator in the right place before installation day.

Your questions about cold store and freezer doors

Why is our cold room door in Nailsea hard to open after it closes?

Usually negative pressure: air inside cools and contracts once the door seals. A correctly sized pressure relief valve, heated on freezers, solves this. We check for one on survey and can fit it with a new door.

What safety release do cold store doors in Nailsea need?

Every cold store door should open from inside without a key or tool, even when locked from outside. We fit a clearly marked inside release and can add an alarm button connected to a monitored panel.

How much does a cold store or freezer door cost in Nailsea?

Our guide price for a sliding cold store or freezer door is £6,495 to £17,995 ex VAT, supplied and fitted. Size, temperature, insulation and electric operation set the final price, confirmed in writing after a free survey in Nailsea.
