What we fit in Stalybridge
- Sized to your fleet. Curtain sizes matched to vehicle widths, heights and dock height.
- Replacement curtains. Worn or torn curtains renewed on the existing frame.
- Guidance aids. Driver aids help trailers line up straight, which protects the shelter and improves the seal.
- Temperature control. Less heated or chilled air escapes around the trailer while the door is up.
- Retractable frames. If a trailer reverses too far, the frame gives way and springs back instead of bending.
Examples of work we can quote for
- Pricing shelters, levellers and sectional doors together for the refurbishment of an existing goods-in area.
- Fitting retractable dock shelters across a run of bays that serve a mixed fleet of vans and trailers.
- Fitting foam dock seals at a bay used only by a dedicated fleet of identical trailers.
Loading bay safety in England
Dock levellers, shelters and restraints are work equipment, so in Stalybridge the business running the site must keep them in efficient working order under PUWER 1998, and keep traffic routes safe under the Workplace Regulations 1992. Dock levellers are built to BS EN 1398; powered loading bay doors are covered by the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 and BS EN 12453.
Access, phasing and timing
Most installations in Stalybridge can be phased so part of the site keeps working. We agree access routes, exclusion zones and any temporary security with you before the team arrives, and can work early mornings, evenings or weekends where the business needs it.

Questions from businesses in Stalybridge
Can a dock shelter in Stalybridge be fitted with our existing leveller?
Usually, yes. The shelter fits around the dock door and works with most existing levellers, provided the bumpers stop the trailer at the right distance from the wall. We check the bumpers and leveller lip on survey.
Do you fit dock shelters for cold stores around Greater Manchester?
Yes. We fit inflatable and retractable shelters at cold stores and chilled sites across Greater Manchester, often alongside insulated doors and levellers, to help hold temperature and limit condensation at the dock while trailers are worked.
How long does dock shelter installation take in Stalybridge?
Typically half a day to a day per shelter, depending on size and fixings. We schedule work bay by bay so loading can continue at the others while each shelter is fitted.
