Options for dock shelters and seals in Haywards Heath

Weather protection. Goods and staff stay out of the weather while the trailer is being worked.
Inflatable seals. Once the vehicle is in place, inflated bags press against its sides and roof.
Retractable frames. If a trailer reverses too far, the frame gives way and springs back instead of bending.
Foam seals. Compressible pads for a tight seal where vehicles are a uniform size.
Sized to your fleet. We size curtains to the vans, rigids and trailers that actually use your bay.

Typical scopes of work

Replacing worn dock bumpers before fitting new shelters so trailers stop at the correct distance from the wall.
Specifying deeper top curtains for bays that receive double-deck trailers alongside standard trailers.
Adding rain gutters and guide lights to dock shelters so water stays out of trailers during loading.

Loading bay safety in England

Dock levellers, shelters and restraints are work equipment, so in Haywards Heath the business running the site must keep them in efficient working order under PUWER 1998, and keep traffic routes safe under the Workplace Regulations 1992. Dock levellers are built to BS EN 1398; powered loading bay doors are covered by the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 and BS EN 12453.

Planning the work around your site

For busy sites in West Sussex the work can be split across visits — preparation and framing first, door installation and commissioning second — so the opening is only out of action for the shortest time.

Questions from businesses in Haywards Heath

Do you repair dock shelters in Haywards Heath?

Yes. We straighten or replace bent frames and arms, replace curtains, repair inflatable shelter blowers and bags, and renew bumpers. Repair visits are chargeable, and we quote before ordering any made-to-measure parts.

How long does dock shelter installation take in Haywards Heath?

Typically half a day to a day per shelter, depending on size and fixings. We schedule work bay by bay so loading can continue at the others while each shelter is fitted.

Which dock shelter suits our Haywards Heath warehouse?

Retractable shelters suit most mixed fleets. Inflatable shelters give a tighter seal for chilled, frozen or sensitive goods. Foam seals suit uniform fleets. We recommend one after recording your vehicles and dock on survey.
