How we look after doors in Stockton-on-Tees

Brake and override. Brakes tested and manual override checked on every change.
Written records. A record of the work and tests for your maintenance file.
Fault diagnosis. Diagnosis comes first, so you only pay for the parts the door actually needs.
Re-commissioning. The door is fully re-commissioned and tested before it goes back into use.
Matched drives. Each replacement drive is selected for the door it will move, not just the old part number.

What this work can involve

Changing a tubular motor in a small service shutter that overheats and trips during busy periods.
Replacing a motor with a slipping brake on a heavy shutter that creeps down from a part-open position.
Re-commissioning a sectional door once a new motor is fitted, including new limit settings and closing force tests.

Safety law for industrial doors in England

Industrial doors in Stockton-on-Tees are covered by the same rules as the rest of Great Britain. On handover you should receive user instructions and, for a powered door, the conformity paperwork, because the installer is treated as the manufacturer when they assemble or motorise it. Afterwards, keeping the door in efficient working order is the occupier's job under the Workplace Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998, which in practice means regular servicing and a written log.

Access, phasing and timing

On a first visit we record each door's make, size, control type and condition. That record makes later repairs quicker to price and helps you plan replacements before a door fails.

Your questions about industrial door motor replacement

Can you replace an obsolete door motor in Stockton-on-Tees?

Yes. Where the original is no longer made, we fit an equivalent drive with any adapter plates or couplings needed, then set limits and test the safety devices before the door goes back into use.

How soon can a door motor in Stockton-on-Tees be replaced?

Many common motors can be sourced quickly, and fitting usually takes a few hours once the drive is on site. Specialist or obsolete motors may need ordering; we tell you the lead time with the quote.

Is the motor really the problem with our door in Stockton-on-Tees?

Not always. Broken springs, damaged guides, failed panels, safety device faults and supply problems can all look like a failed motor. We diagnose first so you do not pay for a motor that will not fix the fault.
