Who must keep fire shutters working at a site in Colwyn Bay?
The responsible person, usually the employer, owner or managing agent, has the duty under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, as it applies in Wales. Your fire risk assessment should list each shutter, how it is released and how often it is tested, and North Wales Fire and Rescue Service may ask how the shutters are maintained.
Keeping your site running during the work
Before work starts we send a method statement and risk assessment, confirm who on site will be our contact and agree where materials and access equipment will go. On shared industrial estates that can mean booking yard space with the landlord.
