How we look after doors in Ammanford
- Remedials. Faults explained on the day and quoted before any chargeable repair.
- Mechanical checks. Guides, laths, bottom rail and smoke seals inspected and cleaned so nothing stops a full closure.
- Written records. A service report per shutter for your fire safety logbook.
- Alarm interface. We coordinate with your fire alarm engineer so the release signal and the shutter are proven together.
- Most makes. Shutters from most manufacturers serviced, whether or not we installed them.
Examples of work we can quote for
- Replacing a failed battery back-up unit so a fire shutter closes under control when mains power is lost.
- Servicing fire shutters on conveyor openings, including checks that the conveyor clears the closing line before the shutter descends.
- Testing service-yard fire shutters out of hours so the closure test does not block a busy delivery route.
Fire shutter law in Wales
A fire shutter only does its job if it closes when needed. Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, as it applies in Wales, the responsible person must keep fire safety equipment maintained in efficient working order, and keeping test records is the usual way to show it. Shutters must also stay as the manufacturer tested and certified them, so repairs should use the right parts. In Ammanford, the enforcing authority is Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service.
Keeping your site running during the work
Testing and repairs can mean closing an opening, so we agree timing and access with you before the visit, including early, late or weekend slots where the site needs them.
