What we fit in Brighouse
- Certified install. Fitted strictly to the manufacturer's specification for fixings, wall type and fire-stopping.
- Daily-use models. Motorised fire shutters that also work as everyday doors.
- Fail-safe closing. If the alarm sounds or the power goes, the shutter drops at a governed speed and closes the opening.
- Alarm interface. We agree the cause-and-effect with your alarm contractor and prove the release at commissioning.
- Records. Commissioning and drop test records handed over for the fire safety file.
Typical scopes of work
- Installing a motorised fire shutter that also serves as the daily goods door between two warehouse compartments.
- Building up a blockwork wall to the tested construction before fitting a new compartment fire shutter.
- Supplying a fire shutter to a fire engineer's specification on a new-build unit, timed to the main contractor's programme.
Fire shutter law in England
A fire shutter only does its job if it closes when needed. Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, the responsible person must keep fire safety equipment maintained in efficient working order, and keeping test records is the usual way to show it. Shutters must also stay as the manufacturer tested and certified them, so repairs should use the right parts. In Brighouse, the enforcing authority is the local fire and rescue authority.
Keeping your site running during the work
Electrical work is the part that most often delays a job. If a new or converted door needs a supply, we confirm the motor's requirement at quote stage so your electrician can provide an isolator in the right place before installation day.
